Funded by a grant from the Melinda and Bill Gates Foundation, we at Local Projects partnered with the New York Hall of Science to develop Noticing Tools, an app that allows students to learn science and math in an interactive format. For example, using the iPad's robust set of sensors, students are able to track their own motion and velocity, showing them how fundamental principles of physics are at work when they play. The app explores proportions, fractions, three-dimensional modeling and more.
